Confidential, a global company, is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting to oversee key aspects of the financial reporting process and provide technical accounting guidance. This hands-on role partners with senior finance leadership on complex matters.

Candidates should bring a public accounting background, 5+ years of experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, experience with audits, and a CPA preference.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Foundation in public accounting, ideally including experience auditing financial statements.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Industry experience with hands-on financial reporting and technical accounting responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research and interpret accounting guidance.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos, footnotes, and documenting accounting conclusions.
• Comfortable working directly with senior leadership, external auditors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work on key aspects of the company’s financial reporting process, including preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures
• Research and evaluate complex accounting matters and determine the appropriate treatment under U.S. GAAP
• Draft and review technical accounting memos that clearly document conclusions and supporting guidance
• Monitor new accounting standards and pronouncements and assess their potential impact on the business
• Partner with accounting, finance and other business leaders on transactions and accounting issues
• Serve as a point of contact for external auditors and support the annual audit process
• Provide technical accounting guidance in areas that may include: Impairment, Derivatives and Hedge Accounting, Lease Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Business Combinations, and other complex or non-routine transactions
• Help strengthen reporting processes, controls and documentation as the organization continues to grow

We are a global company searching for a Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting. This is a high-visibility role for someone who has a strong technical accounting foundation but also enjoys being hands-on with the financial reporting process.

The ideal background is someone who started their career in public accounting, auditing financial statements and developing a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, and has since moved into a role where they’ve gained hands-on experience with financial reporting and technical accounting. This role will work closely with senior finance leadership and have exposure to complex accounting matters across a large, global organization.
