Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose

Responsible for managing the daily operations of a medical clinic in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards. Anticipates and plans for future changes. Makes recommendations to improve customer service as appropriate. May support 7 or more providers with increased patient volume, multiple specialties, or oversee highly specialized tests or procedures. May perform other administrative duties and/or project management outside medical clinic. Requires interface with hospital departments.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Manage clinic staff on day-to-day operations.
  2. Coordinate clinic operations and activities to ensure efficiency and quality service delivery within all sections of the clinic. Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  3. Responsible for employee performance management by completing performance appraisals and setting individual goals as outlined in policies and procedures.
  4. Effectively lead and develop a team of employees including hiring, training, development, coaching, and corrective action.
  5. Prepare, recommend, and monitor the clinic budget, goals, and objectives.
  6. Participate in the planning and development of policies and procedures, as well as clinic-specific procedures and programs.
  7. Collaborate with clinic administration to develop and implement performance goals and objectives.
  8. Assist clinic administration with implementation and development of long-range plans.
  9. Monitor payroll system to control time management.
  10. Ensure and maintain an environment compliant with regulatory, licensure, compliance, and accreditation requirements.
  11. Serve as the first point of contact for patient and external customer complaints. Reconcile and investigate all complaints relating to practice operations.
  12. Act as the liaison between the practice and the Billing Office.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3 years leadership experience OR minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree and no experience. Clinic management experience preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications

To be determined based on specific role requirements.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training

Five (5) years clinic office experience with progressive leadership experience required. Equivalent experience may substitute education requirements.


Advanced computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and ICD coding procedures required.


Must be able to work independently, be organized, and self-motivated. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
