Job Summary

Under the direction of the VP Corporate and Community Health Services, the Manager will develop, implement, and manage outreach and educational programs for the Chinese community. The role involves partnering with Community Benefits, Business Development, and Community Relations leaders to create effective marketing and business plans and communication strategies that reach specific target audiences. The Manager will chair advisory boards of volunteer physicians and community leaders to engage the community in the Chinese Health Initiative, organize health education and screening events, recruit and manage volunteers, and work with inpatient and outpatient managers to increase cultural sensitivity regarding the beliefs and preferences of Chinese patients within the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee outreach and educational programs for the Chinese community.
• Partner with cross‑functional leaders to design marketing, business plans, and communication strategies.
• Chair advisory boards of volunteer physicians and community leaders to engage the community.
• Organize health education and screening events.
• Recruit and manage volunteers.
• Collaborate with inpatient and outpatient managers to enhance cultural sensitivity and improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social science, business, healthcare, or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in marketing, communications, education, or community outreach with program development in healthcare.
• Expertise in the Chinese community in the greater Bay Area.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work with physicians, staff, volunteers, and community leaders.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin with accurate speaking, reading, and interpretation skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Primarily sedentary duties while sitting. Occasional walking and standing. May lift or carry up to 10 lbs.

Salary Range

$47.99 - $71.98 USD per hour.
