Position Summary
HASI is seeking a Manager to join our finance team in Annapolis, MD. This role will focus on corporate capital raising activities for funding our on-balance sheet investment portfolio. The core responsibilities of the role will include supporting transaction structuring, document negotiations, diligence, preparation of marketing materials, and participation in bank and rating agency relationship management activities. The person in this role will collaborate across the company and with external parties to support the Vice President – Head of Capital markets to execute transactions effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
Salary

Responsibilities
· Support capital raising efforts by assisting with structuring and negation of commercial terms, reviewing documentation, due diligence inquiries, preparation of marking materials, financial modeling, and other workflows associated with debt and equity issuances.
· Support workflows associated with maintaining our corporate rating including working with internal parties to co-ordinate annual reviews and other meetings requested by the rating agencies, preparation of materials for meetings, and reviewing reports issued by agencies prior to publication
· Coordinate and participate in active conversations with our corporate banking relationships and assist with maintaining a database of contacts, active conversations, and historic fees
· Collaborate with members of the finance team to analyze and recommend various financing structures to optimize HASI’s financing strategy and capital plan
· Create and implement a weekly dashboard summarizing key metrics impacting HASI’s capital plan
· Lead debt compliance monitoring activities including but not limited to the review of compliance certificates, financial covenant calculations, events of default checklists, and conversion ratio adjustment reporting
· Perform stress tests on financial covenant and key rating metrics and participate in enterprise risk management discussions
· Collaborate with investor relations to maintain HASI’s fixed income website and other ESG related reporting activities
· Participate in treasury operations activities, including disbursements and funding procedures.
Education and Prior Work Experience
· Bachelor’s degree from a four year institution; CFA preferred
· At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, investing banking, or corporate finance, ideally in the financial services or sustainable energy sectors
· Experience in supporting the structuring, negotiation and execution of funding sources including credit facilities, sr. unsecured notes, hybrid or convertible structures, or equity
· Experience interacting with external facing parties such as rating agencies, external counsel, or client/banking relationships
Specific Recommended Knowledge and Skills
· Proven track record of supporting capital raising initiatives including marketing materials, investor diligence, and financial covenant modeling
· Familiarity with revolving and term loan credit facilities, commercial paper, and debt and equity capital markets and structures
· Familiarity with rating agency methodologies and metrics
· Familiarity with interest rate and equity forward derivative products
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment
· Dependable and reliable, excellent at taking initiative, can work independently without close supervision and be a supportive team member
· Experience working with complex excel models
· Familiarity with Bloomberg
· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
