Manager, Business Development – Commercial Landscaping
Landscape Professionals of Texas (LPT)
Build Relationships. Win Business. Grow With Us.
Landscape Professionals of Texas is looking for an experienced, driven Manager of Business Development to join our growing team in Dallas.
This is a true outside sales and business development role for someone who enjoys being in the market, building relationships, identifying opportunities, meeting with decision-makers, and turning those relationships into long-term commercial clients.
The ideal candidate is a confident relationship builder with a strong sales background and a proven ability to develop new business. Experience in commercial landscaping, property management, construction, facilities services, or another B2B service industry is highly preferred.
What You Will Do
Business Development & New Sales
- Identify, prospect, and develop new commercial business opportunities throughout the DFW market.
- Build and maintain relationships with property managers, facility managers, developers, owners, general contractors, and other commercial decision-makers.
- Generate opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, industry events, property visits, and other business development activities.
- Conduct in-person meetings, property walks, presentations, and client consultations.
- Develop a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently move prospects through the sales process.
- Own the sales process from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and close.
Relationship Development
- Establish trusted relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Understand each client's property, operational needs, priorities, and business objectives.
- Position LPT as a strategic service partner rather than simply a landscaping vendor.
- Maintain consistent follow-up and communication throughout the sales cycle.
- Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to develop competitive, accurate proposals.
- Prepare and deliver professional proposals and presentations.
- Participate in site walks and help identify opportunities for landscape maintenance, enhancements, irrigation, drainage, installation, and other LPT services.
- Negotiate effectively while protecting company margins and creating value for the client.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, activity, and pipeline information in the CRM.
Market Development
- Develop a strong understanding of the DFW commercial property market.
- Identify target markets, accounts, properties, and decision-makers.
- Attend industry events, association meetings, networking functions, and other activities that generate business opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for LPT to expand its services and client base.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of outside sales, business development, account management, or customer relationship experience.
- Proven track record of developing new business and closing sales.
- Experience in commercial landscaping is strongly preferred.
- B2B sales experience in landscaping, construction, property management, facilities services, or a related industry is highly valued.
- Strong ability to prospect, network, cold call, and create opportunities independently.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand a client's needs and translate them into solutions.
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and pipeline management skills.
- Comfortable conducting meetings and site visits with commercial clients.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and standard business technology.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout the DFW market.
The Right Person for This Role
You are a hunter and a relationship builder.
You are comfortable picking up the phone, walking into a property, introducing yourself to a decision-maker, attending a networking event, or asking for the meeting.
You know that commercial sales are built on consistent activity, credibility, follow-through, and trust.
You are competitive, accountable, organized, and motivated by winning new business—but you also understand that the best clients are earned through long-term relationships.
