We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Manager of Application Development to lead a team of developers and engineers focused on delivering enterprise-level financial technology solutions. This role blends technical oversight with strong people leadership and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality product delivery and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, and support of core banking and financial applications.
- Manage a team of developers, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and growth-oriented culture.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery within agile and iterative frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and executive leadership to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
- Establish and enforce development best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance procedures.
- Support the modernization of legacy systems and champion the adoption of new technologies.
- Monitor team performance, conduct regular reviews, and provide mentorship and career development support.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with financial technologies such as:
Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, or similar. - Strong expertise in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
- Proven track record of people management, team leadership, and staff development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence executive leadership.
- Strong understanding of agile/iterative project management principles.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Hands-on development experience with Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen.
- Familiarity with IBM AIX operating system.
- Proficiency in SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Working knowledge of the ITIL framework and experience implementing IT service management processes.
