Location: Des Plaines, IL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Onsite 4 days/week
Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Flexible hours may be required for after-hours, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000/year (Based on skills, qualifications, and experience)
Additional Compensation: Quarterly performance incentive plan
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Account Managers
- Manage and maintain relationships with key clients
- Serve as the primary escalation point for high-value accounts
- Resolve customer concerns and provide logistics solutions
- Monitor account performance, SLAs, on-time delivery, and customer feedback
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and profitability
- Support new business development, account expansion, contract renewals, and upselling/cross-selling
- Monitor performance metrics and prepare reports for senior leadership
- Analyze operational data and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Train the team on best practices, client communication, and industry trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in account management, client services, or freight brokerage
- 2+ years of leadership or team management experience
- Experience managing large or complex accounts in freight, transportation, or 3PL environments
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Fluency in Korean required
- Experience with freight brokerage software, CRM, Microsoft Office, TMS, or ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of transportation logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CLM or SCMP
- Experience in freight brokerage or transportation account management
- Experience with Korean-speaking customers or business partners
Work Environment
- Corporate office environment with primarily desk-based work
- Regular use of computers and phones
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
