Job summary

Referment is seeking an associate to join its Management Company Accounting team within Financial Operations. You will own the monthly and quarterly close, prepare reporting, and support the firm's regulatory filings while helping modernize the function with AI and automation.

Qualifications

• Two years of accounting experience, ideally in asset management, financial services, or public accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, and a CPA — the CPA is required.
• Solid understanding of core accounting concepts and the close and reporting cycle.
• Forward-looking mindset on generative AI and automation with interest in applying new tools to everyday work.
• Keen attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and collaborative communication, with discretion around sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Manage recurring monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reporting for team and firm leadership, with accuracy and timeliness.
• Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements and related filings.
• Help design and adopt generative AI and automation tools that make close, reporting, and regulatory workflows more efficient and reliable.
• Partner with colleagues across Financial Operations and Legal and Compliance to research questions, address reporting needs, and improve processes.
