Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP (NYSE: BWP) is a midstream master limited partnership that provides transportation, storage, gathering, and processing of natural gas and liquids for its customers.

We are currently looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer for our Owensboro, KY or Houston, TX office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for providing hands-on architectural guidance and oversight for Boardwalk’s applications, infrastructure, and security within a hybrid cloud strategy. You will also be responsible for further development of cloud architectures, taking existing Boardwalk standards along with best practices to provide solution architectures for all IT applications and infrastructure.

Duties include:
  1. Lead a Continuous Delivery Services (CDS) team with an execution focus.
  2. Lead day-to-day direction of the CDS team in development and operations of services that provide CI/CD and DevOps enabling services to Boardwalk’s development teams.
  3. Deliver cloud solutions using AWS and other public cloud services and serve as a key member of the IT CDS team to ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services to the cloud.
  4. Educate business and technology stakeholders on the value propositions of cloud and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  5. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the technology community.
  6. Oversee the architecting and design of complex cloud solutions for the organizational business units.
  7. Serve as cloud SME for the business and technology stakeholders.
  8. Work closely with the development team to create/maintain an automated CI/CD software pipeline.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. 7+ years of hands-on experience in architecture and designing highly complex, distributed applications using AWS microservices.
  2. Ability to learn cloud native services and conduct proof of concepts as part of the solutions.
  3. 7+ years’ experience with delivery of cloud resources via automation and DevOps, CI/CD.
  4. Developing templates or scripts to automate everyday infrastructure or operations functions.
  5. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available environment.
  6. Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.
  7. College or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or a related field of study and/or +10 years equivalent work experience.
  8. Certifications applicable to the position are desirable.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Familiarity with the Energy industry.
  2. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  3. Broad knowledge of database technologies, programming languages, and techniques.
  4. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  5. Demonstrated ability in developing and interpreting technical documentation.
  6. Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  7. Conceptual understanding of database design and administration, systems administration, and networking.
