Job description

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division (FC), Office of Resource Management (FR), Organizational Management Section (FRM), Organizational Analysis and Policy Team (FRMP). This position(s) primary purpose is to evaluate DEA's organizational structures/substructures of Headquarters, domestic fields, and foreign offices.

GS-09 Requirements

Applicants applying for the GS-09 must meet one of the following requirements:

  • A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
  • B. 1) Assisting with designing and applying analytical tools and methods to assess and improve programs; 2) Assisting with delivering training and guidance to stakeholders on workforce management topics; and 3) Recommending revisions to policies and procedures to improvement organizational operations.
  • OR
  • C. Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
  • OR
  • D. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-11 Requirements

Applicants applying for the GS-11 must meet one of the following requirements:

  • A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Designing and applying analytical tools and methods to evaluate and improve programs; 2) Developing and delivering training to stakeholders on workforce management topics; and 3) Recommending, drafting, and implementing policies and procedures to improve organizational operations.
  • OR
  • B. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
  • OR
  • C. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
