Job summary

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is seeking an expert advisor to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) for operations program and policy in the Miami and Tampa Field Divisions. The role focuses on providing expert guidance to enhance division-wide operations and policy implementation.

Applicants must meet the qualification standards described, including time-in-grade requirements, with emphasis on studies of program operations, policy development, and interagency coordination.

Qualifications

• Have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13.
• Specialized experience includes studies of operation programs, policies and procedures related to an organization's workforce.
• Experience in recommending or implementing action plans to improve program performance.
• Experience developing policies, procedures and guidelines for operational programs.
• Overseeing programs to safeguard funds, property and assets.
• Coordinating special projects with other agency divisions or interagency partners.

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Miami Field Division and Tampa Field Division This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as an expert advisor to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) on operations program and policy for their assigned Domestic Field Division.

Applicants applying for the GS-14 must meet one of the following requirements:

Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:

• Conducting or managing studies of operation programs, policies and procedures related to an organization's workforce;
• Recommending and/or implementing action plans to improve program performance;
• Developing policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to operational programs;
• Overseeing programs to ensure that funds, property, and other assets are safeguarded;
• Coordinating special projects with other agency field divisions, Headquarters, and/or other interagency partners
