Job summary

The Drug Enforcement Administration is seeking an administrative professional to support the Office of Training (OTA) in the Academy Operations Section (OTAG). The role focuses on human resources administration, records management, security, and internal communications to ensure efficient daily operations.

Job description

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operations Division, Office of Training (OT), Academy Operations Section (OTA), General Support Unit (OTAG).

This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Office of Training by performing a variety of administrative duties, including: human resource management, records management, security, office automation, program coordination and internal communications.

GS-09 Eligibility
  • A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Contributing to the day-to-day operations of an office in areas related to human resources administration, budget execution, program coordination, and other core administrative functions; 2) Providing support to management and staff to ensure compliance with administrative policy and regulatory requirements; and 3) Utilizing automated information/data systems to collect data, gather information, and prepare reports.
  • B. Education: Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree -or- two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
  • C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-11 Eligibility

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
