Job summary

DLA Careers seeks a Management Analyst for the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) program at our Richmond, Virginia location. You will provide analytical advice on operational and management projects, develop reports and briefings, and track key actions to support mission success.

The role requires experience in finance and accounting, strong data reporting skills in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • One year specialized experience relating to duties including finance and accounting principles by interpreting financial reports, inventory reports, and providing analytical solutions.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for specialized experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical advice on operational and management projects/programs for FMWR HQ Installation Support Office.
  • Formulate project methodologies and identify techniques to accomplish objectives.
  • Research directives, regulations, policies, and procedures for FMWR and Records Management.
  • Plan and execute tasks: prepare correspondence, briefings, charts, reports, simple policies, and track suspense items.

Summary

This position is located at DLA Richmond, Virginia.

Duties
  • Serves as a Management Analyst with responsibility for providing analytical advice in matters relating to operational and management projects/programs for Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR), HQ Installation Support Office.
  • Formulates the project methodology identifying the operational and analytical techniques for accomplishment of project objectives.
  • Researches Directives and Instructions, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to Family, Morale Welfare and Recreation programs and mission and Records Management Program.
  • Plans and executes a variety of tasks, to include but not limited to, preparing and reviewing correspondence; preparing briefings and charts; developing reports; summaries, simple policies and procedures and tracking suspense items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Qualifications
  • One year specialized experience directly related to the duties described above which includes experience with finance and accounting principles by interpreting financial reports (i.e. balance sheets, income statements); interpreting business reports (i.e. inventory reports); developing solutions to complex managerial issues based on analysis; and utilizing Microsoft suite to produce complex data reports, such as pivot tables, databases, etc.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for specialized experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Highly Preferred Criteria
  • Degree in business administration, management or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods and techniques and understanding of basic statistical principles and techniques, and knowledge of the methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information.

  • Knowledge of management principles, practices, and techniques to provide services to the Organization, analyze data and information, recommend improvements in procedures and policies.
  • Comprehensive oral communication skills and analytical writing skills.

  • This job is open to candidates who are LOCAL. Must live within a 50-mile commuting radius of DLA Richmond, Virginia.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
