Qualifications

  • 3+ years of administrative/operational/financial analysis experience (Analyst II).
  • Experience researching and analyzing public policy issues.
  • Exposure to government relations, legislative affairs, or public sector operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, analysis, and evaluation of legislative, policy, operational, and administrative issues.

Job Title

Temporary Management Analyst I/II with a Work with a large, mission-driven public agency that supports essential water, environmental, and infrastructure services for a major metropolitan region

Duration: 960 Hours in a fiscal year

Pay Rate: Management Analyst I: $45.80 | Management Analyst II: $50.55

Role Overview

Provide professional analytical, legislative, policy, and administrative support to the Office of Government Relations. The role supports local, state, and federal government relations initiatives, conducts research and policy analysis, develops advocacy materials, engages with elected and appointed officials and strategic partners, and assists with organizational programs, projects, community outreach activities, and special initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research, analysis, and evaluation of legislative, policy, operational, and administrative issues.
  • Analyze proposed legislation, public policy, and regulatory impacts on organizational operations and priorities.
  • Prepare reports, white papers, briefing materials, presentations, talking points, and advocacy documents.
  • Support local, state, and federal government relations activities and policy initiatives.
  • Engage with elected officials, government agencies, advocacy organizations, and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, community events, and industry forums when appropriate.
  • Conduct operational, financial, administrative, and programmatic analyses.
  • Assist in community sponsorship reviews, outreach events, and festival/community engagement activities.
  • Support project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to advance organizational objectives.
Required Experience
Management Analyst I
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience performing administrative, operational, management, policy, or financial analysis of complex issues.
Management Analyst II
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience performing administrative, operational, management, policy, or financial analysis of complex issues.
Position-Specific Experience
  • Experience researching and analyzing public policy issues.
  • Experience preparing professional reports and recommendations.
  • Exposure to government relations, legislative affairs, advocacy, or public sector operations.
Preferred:
  • Graduate-level academic background or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative analysis, or public administration.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal legislative processes.
  • Experience drafting policy documents, advocacy materials, and executive communications.
  • Event planning, community engagement, sponsorship management, or stakeholder relations experience.
  • Experience working within a public agency, utility, government office, or regulatory environment.
