Job summary

Binary Defense is seeking a Splunk Security Engineer to architect, deploy, configure, and manage Splunk instances for clients as well as internal use. You will develop security use-cases and alert configurations and work closely with our SOC analysts to ensure accurate alert escalation.

This role requires hands-on Splunk expertise, strong information security knowledge, and Windows system administration along with scripting skills such as PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and managing Splunk in a professional environment.
• Strong information security knowledge and understanding of threat detection practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, administer, and maintain Splunk instances for clients and internal use.
• Evaluate data sources and prioritize logs based on security value and license impact.
• Guide on log types to collect for security purposes and assist with forwarders to SIEM platforms.
• Collaborate with clients and SOC analysts to ensure proper alerting and escalation.
• Participate in weekly meetings and on-call rotations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
