Job summary

Critical Start, Inc. is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Managed Security Services team in Plano, TX.

You will monitor and maintain multiple SIEM environments, onboard technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk, and deliver customized security solutions for clients. You will configure data sources, build dashboards, and drive security maturation across customer environments, while collaborating with colleagues and clients to ensure robust SIEM programs and effective incident

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• 2+ years in a cybersecurity engineering role.
• 2+ years in SIEM tools, specifically Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Proficiency with security data sources, log formats, and data ingestion methods.
• Experience creating SIEM content such as alerts, reports, and dashboards.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• 2+ years with next-gen AV or EDR solutions.
• Scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
• Ability to build trust with customers even in complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Configure data sources and log forwarders, create dashboards, workbooks, reports, and alerts.
• Maintain and expand SIEM content and responses for clients.
• Provide technical leadership and configuration guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Collaborate on developing technical pathways and lead cross-functional training.
• Develop and maintain security policies, log sources, and content for SIEM programs.
• Assist clients in maturing their SIEM security products to industry standards.
