Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Obtain authorizations for procedures based on insurance urgency.
• Process denials and follow up with insurers.
• Coordinate with Coding to ensure correct codes are authorized.
• Communicate professionally with insurers, staff, and patients.
• Update databases with authorization and managed care data.
• Inform management of critical insurance plan situations.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and assist coworkers as needed.
