Job summary

CompuGroup Medical, Inc. is seeking an Authorization and Denials Coordinator to manage the full authorization cycle, verify insurance, gather documentation, and submit prior authorizations.

You will handle denials and appeals, analyze root causes, and track deadlines to recover revenue. The role emphasizes process improvement, education of front-end staff, and collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, and practice administrators in a Monday–Friday on-site, with no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare authorizations/revenue cycle, cardiology, internal medicine, multi-specialty practice billing or authorizations, appeals, denial management, and payer escalation processes.
• Strong working knowledge of insurance verification, referral management, and payer-specific authorization requirements.
• Experience navigating major insurance portals (Availity, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare/Medicaid portals).

Responsibilities

• Own the full authorization cycle—verify insurance eligibility and benefits, gather clinical documentation, submit prior authorization requests, and track approvals daily to prevent scheduling delays.
• Manage denials and appeals—analyze root causes, draft appeal letters, track deadlines, and recover revenue by overturning invalid denials.
• Drive process improvement—identify denial trends by payer or department, report findings, and educate front-end staff to prevent authorization errors.
