Overview

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Radiology Director and a radiologist, performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment.

Responsibilities include knowledge of all Mammography and Radiology procedures. Must be available for emergency on-call procedures as required. Recognizes the need for pain control and assessment for patients, helping to prevent or reduce patient pain levels whenever possible.

  • Under the direction of a radiologist, produce high-quality mammograms.
  • Ensure image quality meets all departmental and hospital standards.
  • Provide for patient and personal safety.
  • Reduce patient stress about exams by educating patients about procedures.
  • Operate PACS systems.
Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. Completion of a formal AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program is required. Must pass and maintain ARRT registry. Mammography certification is required. CPR certification is also required.
