Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. seeks a Mammography Technologist to ensure high-quality diagnostic images and patient care in the Louisville area. You will apply anatomy knowledge, positioning skills and imaging techniques while maintaining strict radiation safety and infection control standards.

You will supervise students during clinical training and support ongoing quality assurance programs within the diagnostic imaging department.

Qualifications

• Required RO radiography license and ARRT-R certification; must obtain ARRT-M within 1 year of hire.
• OR ROT license with ARRT-R prior to ROT expiration and ARRT-M within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred: one year of mammography experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate exam purpose to patients and alleviate anxiety.
• Demonstrate patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety and equipment operation.
• Maintain infection control and quality control standards.
• Supervise students providing patient care during training.

Job description

Responsibilities

The role of Mammography Technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. They must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the exam and relieve their anxiety. They must demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. They must demonstrate the ability to supervise students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
