Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center in Georgia seeks a Mammography Technologist for a part-time role. You will perform high-quality mammography, verify patient identity, and guide patients with clear, compassionate communication in a fast-paced imaging environment.

This position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork, with opportunities for professional growth through Wellstar’s CareerCare program. ARRT certifications and a minimum of 1 year in radiology and mammography are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of radiologic technologist experience.
• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• ARRT-M (Mammography) certification.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol.
• Confirm patient identity using two identifiers.
• Explain the exam and reduce anxiety using AIDET.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity and comfort.
• Review images for quality and completeness; ensure first-time acceptance.
• Operate mammography equipment safely and monitor dose.
• Document tests and QC procedures (ACR/MQSA).
• Maintain PACS/RIS labeling and daily charge capture.
• Provide clear pre- and post-exam instructions and answer questions.
• Support training of new team members; collaborate with team.
