Job summary

Plan A Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to support multiple imaging facilities within the region, including Douglas Medical Center, Cobb Hospital, and Paulding Medical Center.

You will perform mammography exams, review image quality, and maintain equipment while adhering to ACR and MQSA standards. The role also involves documenting procedures in PACS/RIS, ensuring patient safety, and supporting staff training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• At least 2 years of hospital radiology and mammography experience.
• ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams according to physician orders and protocols.
• Review image quality and maintain equipment; perform QC checks.
• Document procedures accurately in PACS/RIS and maintain records.
• Assist with training of new staff and ensure infection control guidelines.
• Ensure patient safety, privacy, and effective transfers in a fast-paced team.

Job description

• Responsibilities include: performing mammography exams according to physician orders and protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort, reviewing image quality, maintaining equipment, and adhering to quality standards such as ACR and MQSA.
• Gathering patient history, explaining procedures clearly, protecting privacy, and assisting with transfers as needed.
• Documenting procedures accurately in PACS/RIS, maintaining records, and supporting training of new staff.
• Ensuring a clean, well-stocked environment and following infection control guidelines.
• Using clinical judgment, addressing emergencies, and communicating professionally within a fast-paced team.

Qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, at least 2 years of hospital radiology and mammography experience, ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS certifications.

Skills required: strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and mammography best practices. Ability to operate mammography equipment safely, optimize techniques, and maintain quality control.
