Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to provide safe, high-quality imaging and support patients with clear information and compassionate care. This role offers a predictable schedule and belongs to a highly collaborative imaging team within the Cobb system.

The position requires ARRT credentials in Radiography and Mammography, BLS, and at least 1 year of mammography experience. It supports professional growth through Wellstar’s CareerCare program.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year Radiologic Technologist and 1 year mammography in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol.
• Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintain first-time acceptance.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique.
• Ensure all images are labeled and documented in PACS/RIS; daily charge capture.
• Keep the mammography suite clean and stocked; use shielding as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-exam instructions and support training of new staff.
