Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part-time role. You will perform high-quality imaging, protect patient privacy, and support a collaborative care team in a fast-paced radiology environment.

The position requires ARRT credentials (Radiography and Mammography), BLS, and at least 1 year of mammography experience, with a focus on patient comfort and safety. This role offers flexible scheduling and career growth within Wellstar.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of radiologic technologist experience with mammography.
• ARRT-R, ARRT-M and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and verify patient identity with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam and gather history (AIDET) to reduce patient anxiety.
• Protect privacy and comfort; assist with patient transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and aim for first-time acceptance before release.
• Operate mammography equipment safely; optimize dose and technique.
• Perform and document QC tests and maintain equipment per guidelines.
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS; daily charge capture.
• Provide pre- and post-exam instructions and address questions from patients.
• Maintain concise documentation and stay current with required education.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced team and apply anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety knowledge.
