Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part‑time role. You will perform mammography exams, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high-quality imaging within a collaborative care team.

Candidates should have ARRT-R and ARRT-M credentials, radiologic technologist experience, and BLS certification. The position supports flexible scheduling and the Wellstar CareerCare program for education and growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.
• ARRT-R and ARRT-M certifications; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.
• Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first‑time acceptance rate before releasing patients.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean per guidelines.
• Provide pre- and post-exam instructions and address questions or elevate to providers as needed.
