Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is hiring a part-time Mammography Technologist. You will perform mammography exams, protect patient privacy, and document results in PACS/RIS while maintaining high image quality.

A hospital mammography background and ARRT certifications are required, with BLS and strong patient communication essential. This role offers a flexible schedule, competitive pay differentials, and access to Wellstar's CareerCare program for funded education and career progression

Qualifications

• Must have an accredited Radiologic Technology program and ARRT credentials.
• Experience with mammography and radiology in hospital setting preferred.
• BLS certification required; patient privacy and safety knowledge expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol.
• Confirm patient identity with two identifiers.
• Explain exam clearly and reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort during positioning and transfers.
• Review images for quality and completeness; maintain high first‑time acceptance rate.
• Use clinical judgment and clarify orders; assist in emergencies.
• Operate mammography equipment safely; optimize dose and technique.
• Keep equipment clean and ready per infection control guidelines.
• Perform and document QC tests (ACR/MQSA tests).
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS; daily charge capture.
• Maintain clean mammography suite; use shielding as needed.
• Provide pre- and post‑exam instructions; answer questions.
