You will explain exams to patients, supervise students, uphold infection control and quality assurance, and participate in training. Required: RO State Radiography License, ARRT-R, and ARRT-M within 1 year; ROT option with ARRT-R before ROT expiration.

Qualifications

• RO State Radiography License, ARRT-R; ARRT-M within 1 year of hire.
• ROT (Temp State Radiography License) with ARRT-R prior to expiration; ARRT-M within 1 year.
• One year mammography experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and image quality.
• Explain exams to patients to relieve anxiety and ensure comfort.
• Maintain patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety and infection control.
• Supervise students providing patient care and training as part of residency.
• Participate in quality control and equipment safety.

Job description

The role of Mammography Technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. They must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the exam and relieve their anxiety. They must demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. They must demonstrate the ability to supervise students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
