Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic Mammograms, bone density exams, stereotactic biopsies and needle localization. The role includes equipment maintenance and assisting with QA processes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a 2-year allied health program with mammography training, ARRT Mammography registration, and SC license. BLS is required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal two-year allied health program with mammography training.
  • Registered by the ARRT in Mammography and licensed by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • ARRT CT Registration required within 1 year in position.

Additional Job Description Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of a formal two (2) year allied health approved school with completion of the mammography course and clinical requirements for Mammography registry. Credentials: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography and licensed by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT CT Registration required within 1 year in position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Breast ultrasonographer registered preferred.
