Job description

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code, demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a fully competent level of performance as a Radiologic Mammography Technologist. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, patient positioning techniques, and capturing precise results for accurate diagnosis. You should enjoy working directly with people, playing a significant role in the patient experience.

Daily activities include:

• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment; performing patient care services supporting the physician/provider's practice under supervision.
• Capturing diagnostic images to assist radiologists in accurate diagnosis.
• Applying thorough and accurate imaging techniques for patient positioning as per the order.
• Preparing patients for radiologic/mammography examinations.
• Relaying instructions from radiologists to patients or authorized persons.
• Documenting patient data, concerns, messages, and care in medical records for radiologist review, and performing diagnostic imaging.
• Troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining radiology equipment to prevent failures.

Additional requirements: May occasionally work at other locations within the Greater Sacramento Area.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal AMA school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent program; 40 hours of structured education in Mammography.
• MRAD:CA; BLS-CPR certification.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiology equipment operation, and radiation safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience as a Radiologic/Mammography Technologist preferred; six months outpatient experience preferred.
• ARRT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic practice management systems, and PACS preferred.
