Job Summary and Qualifications

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Obtain quality mammograms with the ability to adapt to specific patient morphology.
  • Comply with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilize Personal Protective Equipment. Operate radiographic equipment safely and competently.
  • Perform all necessary computer operations (i.e., Meditech). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physicians' orders are verified.
  • Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepare examination rooms for mammography procedures. Monitor inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of quality assurance and assist the supervisor in the implementation and documentation of all policies and procedures mandated by the FDA through MQSA.
  • Review each exam for technical accuracy (e.g., markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation) at workstation. Complete verification process in PACS.
  • Assist in additional duties such as film and report filing and answering the telephone when appropriate.
  • Complete and maintain educational requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician.
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT).
  • Registered Radiology Technologist Mammographer.
  • Vocational School Graduate.
