Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a per diem Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. You will support a patient-centered imaging team with emphasis on accuracy, compassion, and safety in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The role requires imaging expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication to create a reassuring patient experience. Remote work is not applicable; base location is Pembroke, MA, with onsite scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience required, per state/federal regulations.
• Radiologic Technologist license preferred.
• Mammography certification preferred by ARRT.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures using appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.
• Position patients accurately and compassionately to support image quality and safety.
• Select imaging modes and exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic technique.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and contribute to a supportive care experience.
• Recognize needs across age groups and adapt to patient differences.

We are seeking a per diem Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while supporting a positive, reassuring experience for every patient.

About the Role

In this per diem role, you will provide coverage to support department needs, including filling in for vacations, leaves, and sick calls. You will be responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with mammography imaging, including patient positioning, equipment operation, image quality evaluation, and procedure support. This position requires direct patient care and a commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate service in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures using appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.
• Position patients accurately and compassionately, using immobilization when necessary to support image quality and patient safety.
• Select proper imaging modes and exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic technique when appropriate.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and help create a supportive, comfortable care experience.
• Recognize the needs and behaviors of patients across age groups, including differences in growth, development, aging, understanding, and physical limitations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience required, in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agency rules and regulations.
• Radiologic Technologist and Technician state license preferred.
• Registered Technologist credential through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T.(ARRT), preferred.
• Mammography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T.(M)(ARRT), preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.
