Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience required, in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agency rules and regulations.
  • Radiologic Technologist and Technician state license preferred.
  • Mammography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T.(M)(ARRT), preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures using appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.
  • Position patients accurately and compassionately, using immobilization when necessary to support image quality and patient safety.
  • Select proper imaging modes and exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
  • Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic technique when appropriate.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and help create a supportive, comfortable care experience.
  • Recognize the needs and behaviors of patients across age groups, including differences in growth, development, aging, understanding, and physical limitations.

You will be responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with mammography imaging, including patient positioning, equipment operation, image quality evaluation, and procedure support.
