Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging exams in a patient-focused environment. You will adhere to MQSA/ACR standards, coordinate recalls and imaging orders, and support accreditation efforts within the breast center.

In this role you will maintain EMR/PACS documentation, ensure equipment safety, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver timely results with compassion.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient tracking and recalls, imaging coordination, and scheduling per departmental workflows.
• Supports breast center initiatives, accreditation prep, community screening events, and quality improvements.
• Follows protocols for patient identification, consent, and time-out procedures before exams.
• Maintains EMR and PACS documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Performs high-quality mammography exams per orders and departmental protocols.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and equipment is routinely cleaned and checked.
• Notifies staff when inventory is low and performs daily QC checks as required.
• Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images.
• Explains procedures clearly and addresses questions with professionalism and compassion.
• Follows MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines including QC testing and documentation.
• Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team on results and next steps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.

• Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.

• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.

• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

• Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.

• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.

• Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.

• Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.

• Follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.

• Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
