Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Mammography to perform high-quality breast imaging exams and manage patient safety and comfort. The role requires ARRT credentials, MQSA familiarity, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in breast imaging preferred.
  • Registered Mammographer RT(M)(ARRT) required.
  • Registered Radiology Technologist RT(R)(ARRT) required.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Supports scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage during all hours of operation.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Serves as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed.
  • Promotes a positive patient experience by ensuring service excellence, effective communication, and the delivery of timely, high-quality care by the team.
  • Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
  • Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Follows MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
  • Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
  • Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
