Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality mammography exams following MQSA guidelines and department protocols. You will ensure patient safety, proper positioning, and accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, good communication, and the ability to work closely with radiologists and breast imaging teams to deliver timely results while maintaining compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
• 1+ year of experience in radiology imaging.
• Knowledge of Mammography and MQSA Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
• Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the EMR and PACS systems.
• Operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images and ensure accurate diagnosis.

Job Description:

• Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.

• Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
• Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
• Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
