Qualifications

• Registration as a Radiologic and Mammography Technologist by the A.R.R.T. is required.
• Must hold a valid Radiology and Mammography license in the state of practice.
• Hands-on CPR certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment and perform related procedures.
• Evaluate films for technical quality.
• Explain procedures to patients and educate on breast health.
• Maintain records and files, cleaning equipment as needed.
• Perform various tasks under general supervision.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.

Essential Functions

• Operates mammography equipment and performs various mammography related procedures.
• Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
• Explains procedures and educates women about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
• Responsibilities also include preparing and maintaining records and files, and cleaning and adjusting equipment as needed.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Works under general supervision.
• Duties as assigned.
