Job description

Join to apply for the Mammography Technologist role at Akumin.

Our Mammographer performs film screen and/or digital mammography exams, collecting thorough patient history/information to provide accurate clinical history to the interpreting Radiologist.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Performing mammogram exams on patients.
2. Obtaining patient history, prior films/reports, and supportive information (RIS/PACS, burn discs).
3. Performing Quality Control (QC) for FDA/ACR compliance.
4. Providing imaging support for other modalities (x-ray, bone density, etc.).
5. Managing mammogram letters (results/reminders).

Position Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
2. Graduate of a State-approved Mammography program.
3. ARRT (M) certification required.
4. State license, if applicable.
5. CPR Certification.
6. Valid state driver's license, if applicable.
7. Met initial MQSA standards.
8. Strong customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
9. Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

Exposed to magnetic fields, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.

More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk, repetitive hand/arm/leg movements, communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time: stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting/moving patients.
