Job Overview

Our Mammographer performs film screen and/or digital mammography exams, collecting thorough patient history and information to provide the interpreting Radiologist with an accurate clinical history of patient signs and symptoms.

Responsibilities

1. Performs mammogram exams on patients.
2. Obtains patient history, prior films/reports, and other supportive information (RIS/PACS, burn discs).
3. Performs Quality Control (QC) in accordance with FDA/ACR standards.
4. Provides imaging support to other modalities in the center (x-ray, bone density, etc.).
5. Works with mammogram letters (results/reminders).

Position Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
2. Graduate of a State-approved Mammography program.
3. ARRT (M) certification required.
4. State license if applicable.
5. CPR Certification.
6. Valid state driver's license if applicable.
7. Met initial requirements under MQSA standards.
8. Strong customer service skills.
9. Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
10. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Physical Requirements

The employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field and may encounter blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.

More than 50% of the time:

• Sit, stand, walk.
• Repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs.
• See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time:

• Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
• Climb and balance.
• Carry and lift (including moving non-ambulatory patients).
