Description: Our client is hiring a Mammography Technologist to join their team and contribute to high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging.

About the job
The Mammography Technologist plays a key role in supporting physicians by performing diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures. This role involves preparing patients, operating mammographic equipment, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare patients for imaging procedures and operate mammographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  2. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout their visit to the radiology department.
  3. Clearly explain procedures and post-procedure care to patients to foster cooperation and ease anxiety.
  4. Manage workflow efficiently, prioritizing based on patient conditions to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
  5. Maintain a supportive and professional atmosphere to promote patient confidence and cooperation.
  6. Utilize patient feedback and practice performance data to identify areas for improvement and participate in enhancement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred. Completion of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program required.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Mammography preferred. Life Support Training compliance required.
  3. Licensure & Certification: ARRT certification and registration in Radiography required. Mammography – RT(R)(M) certification required within 12 months of hire. ARRT certification in Bone Densitometry – RT(R)(M)(BD) preferred.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and universal precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure cleanliness of examination surfaces between patients.
  • Provide fresh linens, including gowns, sheets, pillowcases, and towels.
  • Clean spills promptly using universal precautions.
  • Properly store accessory equipment when not in use.

Additional Information

  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including HEPA masks, for infection prevention.
  • Must be available for on-call responsibilities as directed.
  • Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out-of-town locations as needed.
