Senior Distribution Planning and Analysis Engineer

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Senior Distribution Planning and Analysis Engineer to work REMOTE and join our distribution planning team. This role involves executing distribution planning, DER interconnection impact, arc flash and coordination studies, distribution protection, and self-healing systems, based on project and client needs. Studies are conducted for Municipal Utilities, Investor Owned Utilities, and electric system cooperatives. The position may involve client-facing work and some business development activities. There is significant growth potential for a well-qualified candidate.

The candidate should have solid analytical distribution experience, including load flow studies for traditional planning and regulatory compliance, distribution protection systems, and self-healing networks. Familiarity with distribution policy and regulatory issues, including arc flash assessments, is a plus.

Work Location: Ideally, in the Greater Atlanta, GA area. All U.S.-based candidates will be considered.

Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 4+ years of experience
  • Experience in distribution studies, capable of conducting studies under supervision
  • Experience with Milsoft WindMil, DNV GL SynerGi, or Cyme Cymdist
  • Experience with Siemens PSS/E, GE PSLF, EMTP, or PSCAD is a plus
  • Experience with ASPEN OneLiner or Siemens APA (formerly CAPE) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills (listening, writing, presentation)
  • Team player, able to collaborate across diverse backgrounds and locations
  • Experience with ETAP, EasyPower for low voltage arc flash support
  • Experience modeling Inverter Based Resources
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license preferred
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Pay Range: $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
