Mammography Technologist – Haymarket, Virginia

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (40 hours per week)

Job Overview: The Mammography Technologist plays a vital role in assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position involves preparing patients and operating mammographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
• Clearly explain pre- and post-procedure instructions to minimize anxiety
• Manage workflow efficiently based on patient needs
• Create a welcoming environment to foster patient cooperation and confidence
• Utilize patient feedback and performance data to identify areas for improvement

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required); Associate’s Degree (preferred)
• Training: Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program (required)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Mammography (preferred)
• Licensure:
• ARRT Certification & Registration in Radiography (required)
• Mammography RT(R)(M) Certification within 12 months of hire (required)
• ARRT Certification & Registration in Bone Densitometry RT(R)(M)(BD) (preferred)

Compliance & Safety:

• Follow OSHA regulations and apply universal precautions as required
• Maintain cleanliness by disinfecting exam surfaces and providing fresh linens
• Handle spills promptly and store equipment properly
• May require the use of HEPA masks for infection prevention

Additional Requirements:

• On-call responsibilities as assigned
• Travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, or out-of-town locations as needed
