Job summary

RadNet Bakersfield (Kern-Radiology) is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join its imaging team. You will operate mammographic equipment, produce diagnostic images, and ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure.

Candidates must have ARRT certification, a state license, and BLS. One year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred. We offer comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, employer 401(k) match, and free imaging services for you and your immediate family.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammographic equipment and related devices per policies.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images promptly while ensuring patient care.
• Apply compression, exposure modes, KvP, Mas, grid, focal spot, AEC selections.
• Monitor patient wellbeing and respond to discomfort or medical issues.
• Explain exam steps to patients and answer questions.
• Safeguard patient information and on-site medications.
• Maintain professional behavior with patients and coworkers.

You Will:

• Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices with adherence to established company policies and protocols.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
• Understand and use compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC selection, photo cell selection and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images.
• Monitor patients' well- being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
• Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.

To Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:

• ARRT(R)(M) certification
• State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
• Must have BLS certification

Pay Range: $38.00 - $60.00 per hour
