Job summary

Hmixray in Germantown, MD is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our patient-focused radiology team. You will operate mammographic equipment, acquire diagnostic images, and support quality care throughout the patient journey.

Required ARRT certification, state license, and BLS. Competitive benefits and a pay range of $36–$50 per hour. On-site role with opportunities for professional growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• Active State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammographic equipment and related devices per policy.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images promptly while delivering excellent patient care.
• Adjust compression, exposure, KvP, Mas, grid, focal spot, AEC and related settings for quality images.
• Monitor patient well-being during exams and respond to discomfort or issues.
• Guide patients through procedures, answering questions about exam steps.
• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
• Safeguard patient information and property on site.
• Safeguard medications on site per policy and law.
• Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Respect patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities; interact diplomatically with patients and families.
• Establish and nurture cooperative working relationships.

You Will:

• Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices with adherence to established company policies and protocols.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
• Understand and use compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC selection, photo cell selection and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images.
• Monitor patients’ well- being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
• Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.

To Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:

• ARRT(R)(M) certification
• State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
