Job summary

Solis Mammography in Texas is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our patient-focused team. The role operates X-ray equipment, performs mammography procedures, and maintains accuracy in positioning and technique. You'll work Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm in a supportive, high-touch environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• One-year full-time Mammography Technologist experience with documentation of clinical experience and 3D required.
• Valid state radiology registration as required by state law.
• Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.
• Knowledge of database software, eRad, Sectra RIS/PACS preferred.
• Experience with ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide imaging services and support for the following areas: mammography exams and related procedures.
• Promote patient-focused care, safety and excellent service.
• Explain procedures to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
• Coordinate with radiologists and staff during exams and ensure accurate positioning.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammograms and assist with biopsies as ordered.

Hours: Full Time | M-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

Here is what you will need:

• Education: Completion of a two year approved School of Radiologic Technology

A Day in the Life of a Mammographer

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
• Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
• Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
• Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;
• Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
  Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique; Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
• The Mammography Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the Radiology supervisor or the Radiologist. Specific duties may include but are not limited to:
• Complete patient education regarding the exam
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered
• Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
