Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Avon, IN seeks a full-time Mammography Technologist to join our patient-focused team. The role features a Mon-Fri schedule, 8:00am–4:30pm, in a warm, collaborative imaging environment with radiologists and staff who value growth and mutual support.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, performing routine and advanced mammography, and maintaining accurate RIS records. ARRT-registered technologists with MQSA-compliant CEUs are preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered technologist currently in good standing.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved radiography program.
• Licensed radiologic technologist in the applicable state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform mammography independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.
• Continuing CEUs as required by MQSA or state regs.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients and prepare for mammography imaging.
• Perform routine and advanced mammography imaging procedures.
• Adjust scan parameters with dose-reduction techniques.
• Maintain RIS records and clean, safe work area.
• Support department with protocol updates and supplies.
• Assist training of new associates as needed.

This position is full‑time, working Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑4:30pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Mammography Imaging (90%)

• Screen patients before exam for any precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
• Explain and prepare patients for mammography imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately.
• Perform routine and advanced mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury, with minimal supervision, while providing patient support throughout the procedure.
• Adjust mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose‑reduction techniques.
• Follow physicians’ orders precisely, conform to safety regulations, and accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area, including equipment, promoting good safety habits for patients and co‑workers.
• Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.

Mammography Department Support (5%)

• Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
• Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
• Assist with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise as applicable.

Completes other tasks as assigned (5%)

Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
• Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography.
• Licensed radiological technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform mammography procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.
• Must have continuing CEUs in modality as required by MQSA or state‑specific regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual.
