Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Mammography Technologist I to perform screening and diagnostic mammography, ensuring high-quality images and patient comfort while complying with FDA/MQSA and ACR standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals, safety, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced clinical environment. Qualified candidates should have ARRT radiography certification and mammography credentialing, with state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in radiologic imaging required.
• 2-4 years experience as a mammographer in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs mammography imaging procedures with high-quality screening and diagnostic images.
• Adheres to safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and infection control guidelines.
• Ensures equipment functionality and performs routine quality control testing per ACR and FDA/MQSA requirements.
• Reviews physician orders and patient history to ensure correct procedures are followed.
• Educates patients on breast health, self-exam techniques, and procedure expectations.
• Assists radiologists with mammography-guided procedures including FNA, needle localizations, and biopsies.
• Prepares patients for invasive procedures with clear instructions and post-procedure care guidance.
• Maintains accurate documentation and image storage per regulations.
• Manages mammography inventory and supplies for daily operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains attendance.
