Job summary

Ascension’s imaging team in Austin, TX, seeks a Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality mammography imaging with expert patient positioning and parameter selection. You will educate patients on the importance of breast health screenings and document imaging in the EHR.

You will operate with the PACS network, ensuring high standards of image quality while upholding radiation safety protocols in collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification required.
• 40-hour mammography training course within 3 months of hire.
• 25 supervised mammography studies to meet Texas requirements.
• ARRT Mammography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Days | PRN | Clinic Hours: Monday â Friday, 8am - 5pm

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging as a Mammography Technologist, ensuring precise patient positioning and technical parameter selection for accurate breast health screenings.
• Provide compassionate patient care by explaining clinical procedures and educating individuals on the vital role of mammography in preventive healthcare.
• Execute advanced medical imaging tasks using modern EHR systems to maintain clinical documentation, ensuring image quality meets strict diagnostic standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to uphold radiation safety protocols and quality improvement guidelines for optimal patient and staff safety.
• Manage mammography equipment performance and facilitate seamless care coordination by submitting high-resolution images and patient history into the PACS network.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiology credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Requires completion of a federally approved 40 hour mammography training course within 3 Months (90 days) of hire and completion of 25 supervised mammography studies to meet Texas Department State Health Service(TDSHS) requirements.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
