Responsibilities

• Performs and documents mammographic examinations upon the order of an approved healthcare provider.
• Performs appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication to the next caregiver.
• Analyzes mammographic examinations for quality control purposes.
• Prepares completed examinations for interpretation by the radiologist.
• Operates mammographic unit and all related equipment.
• Operates all facility-based computer systems.
• Transports, moves and positions patients in a safe and appropriate fashion.
• Assists physicians with special procedures involving the use of mammography.
• Participates in quality assurance / quality control activities as related to mammography.

The Mammographer performs diagnostic, screening and invasive mammographic procedures. Prepares examinations for interpretation; maintains radiation safety; and assists with maintaining supplies.

Qualifications: Job Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA approved school.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in radiology & mammography.
• Maintains licensure with the state of Ohio.
• Maintains annual CPR Certification/ When Seconds Count certification.
• Two years minimum experience in a diagnostic imaging setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer programs.
