Job Summary

Provides healthcare services by applying x-ray energy procedures to assist in patient diagnosis or treatment. May perform mammography or routine imaging procedures, demonstrating anatomy for interpretation or intervention by licensed practitioners.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform all radiographic examinations and operate equipment, including bone density, following established protocols.
2. Properly position patients and equipment, select appropriate image receptors and techniques.
3. Utilize digital systems such as RIS and Synapse effectively.
4. Identify patients, review requisitions for accuracy, and apply appropriate patient care.
5. Review patient charts and follow special instructions for exams.
6. Record patient history and maintain quality assurance records as required by ACR, TDSHS, and other organizations.
7. Ensure patient safety through proper restraints and support devices.
8. Identify anatomical orientation on images, ensure proper labeling, and verify image transmission to PACS.
9. Complete documentation accurately and timely, ensuring procedures are correctly coded and listed in RIS.
10. Monitor work quality and utilize QA reports for improvement.
11. Report any incomplete or incorrect examinations for proper patient billing and care.
12. Perform mammographic and routine procedures according to departmental protocols.
13. Maintain radiation safety standards for staff, patients, and self.
14. Adjust technical factors based on patient and body part.
15. Exhibit courteous and professional behavior at all times.
16. Maintain a neat work environment and manage supplies efficiently.
17. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of mammography and routine equipment.
18. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay range is $30.00 - $45.00. Eligibility for benefits depends on classification and employment duration, with offerings including:
