Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging and related duties within a hospital radiology department. You will operate mammographic equipment, ensure proper positioning, and follow protocol to produce diagnostic-quality images.

The role requires an AMA or JRCERT-evaluated training background, ARRT radiography and mammography certifications, and BLS. No experience is required, though one year of mammography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• Licenses required: ARRT Radiography, ARRT Mammography, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional information.
• Positioning the patient and equipment, selecting protocol and technique for required exams.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and obtains additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provides customer service/support to patient population and maintains required records.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
